Review of The Invasion (2007) by Damion R — 25 Oct 2010
Many may wonder if the world really needed yet a third remake of the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"...and as remakes go, it is at least a great choice to update through technology, but the final product didn't live up to expectation.
The always brilliant Kidman and the much-hotter-as-Bond Craig star in this technically thrilling, beautifully shot, brilliantly edited and wonderfully written third time out for this invasion, but unfortunately, after an awesome hour and a quarter of action, the entire thing comes to screeching halt as the whole problem gets wrapped up in a millisecond, leaving you frustrated and disappointed.
Seriously, I loved this movie very much until bam! It was just suddenly over. The same issue that anyone had with the abrupt ending to "War of the Worlds" will feel the same feeling of being shafted here, which is too bad, as this film came a millisecond close to potentially being an alien invasion classic.
