Review of The Interpreter (2005) by Uwe N — 06 Jun 2008
It is a shame that this is one of if not the last pictures that Sydney Pollock directed. Even though it has some great shots of the United Nations buildings in New York, its is an over complicated mish-mash.
And even though there is supposed to be chemistry developing between Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn, there is actually very little. The last, climactic scene of the movie is over long and boring, so much so that I ended up yelling at the screen for Kidman to hurry up and shoot the bad guy and put us out of our misery.
Syndey Pollack at his best was way better than this. Think Tootsie!
