'The Internship' is in no way a bad comedy...but it is one that had so much potential given its lead actors, and the possible premise. The story of two middle-aged men who end up taking up and internship at a big corporation such as Google could be seen as side-splitting and hilarious as it would be able to showcase the possible jokes centered around the generation gap.

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson (of 'Wedding Crashers') play the two leads, when they head over to Google, they realize soon that this work is out of their league. There are so many young interns who understand how the internet works, and how most modern technology works, that the two leads feel a little out of place.

The comedy is mostly flat, but not awful to the point where it feels like a horrendous experience. The pacing of the film is also very uneven, at times the movie would feel a little frustrating as you would think it would end soon enough. Vaughn and Wilson still have terrific chemistry, but the material they are given is weak tea. There are also too many exaggerated archetypes, I get that it is a comedy so it's in its nature to be like that, but it can be a little hard to sympathize with certain characters when all they seem to do is what you would expect them to do.

All in all, this is a middling comedy, that is sure to get a few chuckles out of you from time to time...but ultimately, there are better and funnier alternatives out there. 'The Internship' does, at times, feels like an almost 2 hour advert for Google. If it makes you want to work there, or buy an Android phone, then you clearly didn't pay attention to the movie the way director Shawn Levy wanted you to.
