Review of The International (2009) by Uzr * — 17 May 2010
I watched this in a sort of daze; and by the end I was wondering what had just happened ... it seemed very loose to the point of falling apart; it was messy. I did like the dialog [parts of it at least]; but I wanted to know more about the lead character's [Clive Owen] background, the hints given made it frustrating; you either tell us [the audience] what the story is, have a couple of flash-backs, or shut up about the whole thing! You don't mention a past and then leave us guessing. [if I wrote a novel where I hint that my lead character had a messy past and failed to mention what it is; it would be an epic failure.].
The cast was great; the story had massive potential, but it fell way short ...
