Script is too loose. Big deals are made of things that are either forgotten (wasn't someone supposed to bring guacamole?) or have lame payoffs (the blinking bit). Ultimately, none of the characters change or grow.
The only difference between the beginning and the end is that Anne Hathaway has a new friend in Bob. Could be a great made-for-TV movie if one were to stumble upon it while sick in bed.
