Review of The Intern (2015) by Lisa K — 17 Feb 2018
Academy Award winner Robert DeNiro has been hitting bad times recently in terms of the quality of his film. Appearing in garbage such as "Meet the Fockers" and "Little Fockers" and "Dirty Grandpa".
It is nice to see that among the trash is a movie deserving of his talents and worth your time. "The Intern" is not specatular by any means. However there is a lot to like about it. The thing to like the most is DeNiro.
He carries this movie on his shoulders and does so very well. He also has very good chemistry with Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway. Their scenes together seem very genuine. Almost like they are not scripted.
He alone makes this movie worth seeing. The script is a little formulaic in terms of its storyline, but it still makes for a entertaining film that I do recommend.
