If you're willing to go with its very predictable premise, then you might even love The Intern. I feel like that it's a much weaker film up until we start to get the chemistry between De Niro and Hathaway, which is what really carries this movie. I was actually quite ready to at least give this a passing grade, and then I got to the final minutes of the film. Those last few minutes feel rushed, underwhelming, and kind of unrealistic. Maybe they should have stuck to the cliche formula for just a few minutes more.
Grade: 6.2/10.
