Review of The Insider (1999) by Laurent T — 13 Jan 2010
This is such a great film on so many levels. The power and intensity that it carries never lets go. One of Pacino and Crowes best performances. What's amazing about the film is it's study of two men and what both of them are faced with.
They both need eachother yet, on their own, they face complex problems and deal with the worst kind of people. My favorite thing about the move is it's message about truth. The fear of truth. The danger of it.
The panic that it creates in those who will do nothing to stop it. Christopher Plummer also adds a great dynamic to the film as Mike Wallace who is caught in the middle of the struggle.
