Review of The Insider (1999) by Nathan M — 28 Jan 2010
Probably Michael Mann's second tightest film. The Insider features contemporary style, solid acting and writing, as well as Mann's distinctively clean cinematography. Russell Crowe is at the top of his game and a now characteristically tired-looking Al Pacino also convinces by the end of the film.
The one gripe I have with this film is its slow burning style and correspondingly long runtime, which upon deeper inspection is a common trait of Mann's films.
