Review of The Insider (1999) by Ross W — 06 Mar 2010
Michael Mann is probably my favorite director. He can provide action, but also cerebral acting intertwined amongst the action. This film is powerful, so frustrating for those who were involved in terms of the power of big tobacco.
Crowe is amazing, then again when is he not? He finds the character within himself and lets it shine throughout the film. Pacino is great as well and often with him, I dont know why, he exudes power in his lines where as crowe (for this part and in a good way) provides his role with raw emotion.
Loved this film.
