Review of The Innocent (1976) by Kenichiro F — 26 Aug 2011
Giannini is great at glowering and looking brooding over his women, and Laura Antonelli is still one of the most beautiful women in the world. But it's not one of Visconti's best as it feels like ground he's tread before, and better (Senso anyone?) Only now it's in the 70's so he can show some (very erotic I must say) nudity and sex, and the story does take some powerful turns in his operatic style.
for fans it'll be a treat, and for casual viewers it's at least acceptable, with some shots and scenes really magnificent.
