Review of The Innkeepers (2011) by Pathrik J — 15 Dec 2012
A legitimately scary and suspenseful movie that kept me looking over my shoulder. The story isn't necessarily the most original, but Ti West's direction makes everything seem fresh. The lead performances are great, especially the very talented Ms.
Paxton. I just wish it had a better pay off. The moral and ending make sense, but the suspense of what we are WAITING to see is so breathtaking that the expectation for the ending is higher. House of the Devil nailed it, but this one struggled to leaved me wowed.
Still, Ti West's movies scare the crap out of me, and I'm pretty thick skinned from being a genre fan. He is a master of horror by far.
