Okay Ti, you can make me smile at quirky romance. There's a genre for that. Horror can contain it, but not to the overriding level that is present in this film. Music too - I don't need homage high strings, they only make me think 'either something is coming or it isn't', and either way I'm prepared.
Look, the love letter to classic cinema has been written too many times. Now it's like getting an old lover call you up when what you need is something different.
