Review of The Inner Life of Martin Frost (2007) by Kristine T — 17 Jan 2009
Well, contrary to what appears to be popular opinion, I thought this movie was wonderful. the writer side of me connected to it most definitely, and I will admit that I have never read a paul auster novel.
I am however a HUGE thewlis fan, and not only that but i'm a HUGE romantic, so this was pretty much a perfect movie for me. I loved it purely for entertainment value. plus I think it was cool that a couple of paragraphs or so of thewlis' book was actually written onset while he was filming this.
and as for the acting, it thought it was quite excellent. just because it doesn't get all deep and dark doesn't mean there's no meaning to it, you know? sometimes you have to take things at face value.
ok, i'm done.
