Review of The Informer (1935) by Jeff B — 01 Jul 2011
Beautiful looking John Ford film from the 30s. All of the outdoor scenes were amazing to look at, the use of shadows and fog, it's very cool. Victor McLaglen was great, a worth Oscar win (though the other Mutiny on the Bounty actors were also worthy, so it's a tough call).
A couple of the scenes didn't really work for me, mainly the scenes when that guy kept following Gypo around acting like his best friend. But overall it's a very good movie with excellent cinematography.
