Review of The Informant! (2009) by Bill C — 13 Sep 2010
Steven Sodenberg does a masterful job of wrapping you in the arc of this 'real life is stranger than fiction' story. Note: I understand the majority of complaints about his story. The narrative wanders apparently aimlessly through the first two/thirds of the story.
There is a great payoff in the end any more would be a spoiler. Sodenberg goes out on a limb inserting Damon voice over to establish the off the wall things that went through Whitacre's mind when he was in important meetings or just flying on a plane.
I highly recommend this to anyone who likes stories based on real life events. My only complaint is that Damon take on the character looks way too much like a wide eye rube where the real Whitacre looked like Sodenberg & Dick Chaney.
