The Informant! is to me, more than a story, a character sketch. A brilliantly funny character in the form of Matt Damon. He plays his role well and especially in the beginning the movie is hilarious.
The director makes the choice to focus a lot more on the story in the second half of the movie. This is interesting for a while, but the plot really doesn't go anywhere in the end. There is no climax, but it seems to building up to one.
So: the maincharacter is brilliant, but the story doesn't seem to go anywhere.
