A quite amusing little character comedy from Steven Soderbergh and Matt Damon, which takes an irreverent style to the true story of Mark Whitacre, a tragicomic compulsive liar who helps himself to corporate funds at the sametime as trying to blow the whistle on corporate price fixing in the agribusiness sector.

Soderbergh keeps the tone deliberately light and breezy with a healthy dose of Coen-brothers little man absurdity, whilst Damon proves he has a deft comic touch. This equates to a briefly entertaining little caper, but lacking in any more meaningful and involving drama underpinning Whitacres massively contradictory character.
