Review of The Informant (2008) by Lucas H — 15 Mar 2011
So "The Informant" is based off of a true story. We have this corporate whistleblower by the name of Mark Whitacre played by Matt Damon. This guy takes his company and the FBI on a wild goose chase of lies and fraud.
The movie story is interesting to a degree. What makes the film is the character Mark Whitacre. Matt Damon is excellent as the odd business and family man. You watch him lie and then lie some more to get out of each lie told.
In the end stories and documents conflict. The story is slow at times but again the performance by Matt Damon alone is worth the watch. Worth at least a one time watch for fans of Matt Damon or those who enjoy true life based stories.
