Review of The Infidel (2010) by Ethan T — 03 Jun 2010
Omid Djalili is as likeable as ever in the lead role of this, David Baddiel's stab at a supposedly taboo-in-this-day-and-age ethnic comedy. Perhaps in its efforts to be even-handed the film forgets the all-important comedic requirement: if it ain't funny, what's it doing in the script? And I'm getting a little tired of the feel-good cliche of ending a warm-hearted film with a dance number, even if it is well-executed as in this film; Napoleon Dynamite, you have a lot to answer for.
