Whilst it's nice to see Djalili in a role other than that of screaming foreigner, like his stand-up and television shows, The Infidel is safe, inoffensive comedy with nothing particularly interesting to say.
By far and away the film's highlight is Richard Schiff playing an American Jewish black cab driver who drinks too much. There's nothing particularly bad about this film and in places it is very funny - just not that many.
