Review of The Indian Runner (1991) by Andy H — 11 Jun 2008
A sombre but brilliant directorial debut from Sean Penn. All the more amazing considering itâ??s based on the Bruce Springsteen song Highway Patrolman. The casting is spot ont; Viggo Mortensen plays the part perfectly of a man who is down to earth and likeable half the time and out of control the other.
David Morse gives a very controlled performance as the part demands. Charles Bronson and Patricia Arquette have much smaller parts but play them perfectly.
