Review of The Indian in the Cupboard (1995) by Cj G — 09 Apr 2012
My average rating is more for the overall quality than anything else, because I absolutely loved this book and movie as a kid. I related a lot to Omri for some reason....Scardino may not be the best actor, but he made a very believable character.
the story is just classic--a great combination of magical fantasy and more serious lessons about life and coming of age. unfortunately, the characters in this movie are pretty underdeveloped and the acting is really corny at times, so it's far from perfect.
nonetheless, both kids and adults should find things to like here, even if it doesn't amount to much.
