Review of The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love (1995) by Amanda X — 26 Jan 2006
Well, if we look past the bad acting and some very corny scenes, you have a pretty decent movie about the story of a tomboy who happens to be a lesbian and a very cultured, self-respecting and sheltered african-american chick who is the opposite of lesbian, but you know, that closet door only stays closed for so long.
Well anyhow, after things happen these two girls fall in love with each other and they seem to kick everything off pretty good. Of course, the expected bigotry was present, it even made for an interesting scene where a woman is driving down the street with her child and she yells out of her window: "FUCKING DYKE!" I laughed, why? Well, I have never seen that shit happen.
Anyhow, the movie is great and I loved it. I loved the genuine love story and the very erotic sex scene towards the end. I also loved the part where the chicks mom catches her daughter in the act and finds out the hard way that her daughter likes carpet.
I loved it, but that bad acting was the pits.
