Review of The Incredible Melting Man (1977) by Chad Y — 09 Jun 2007
US Astronauts flirt with Saturn's rings and end up turning into mush. The only survivor is quite literally "incredible" as he sprints and chomps his way through various bit players, leaving a trail of snot and puss in his wake.
He is pursued by his school chum, Dr Ted Nelson, who has an unnatural obsession with crackers. To be honest I almost liked this movie; I found it especially hard to throw off the chilling final sequence involving a janitor and the fifteenth NASA countdown in a row.
Very George A Romero. The rest of the film was less than incredible; a gooey mess of TV-movie proportions, hindered by a plank of wood posing as the hero.
