Review of The Incredible Melting Man (1977) by Scott S — 15 Feb 2011
The Incredible Melting Man (1977) -- [4.0] -- This 'bad in a good way' sci-fi/horror flick features a melting astronaut who must feed on human flesh to keep from becoming a puddle of goo. I'm all for melting people, but "Melting Man" is too narrow in scope.
The script strings together one 'stalk n' kill' scene after another, with little attention to the naturally sympathetic plight of its title character. There are some great ridiculous moments in the movie, however -- including a crazed nurse who runs head-first through a glass door, even though her disintegrating pursuer is waaaaaay behind her.
There's also a cute scene involving grade schoolers smoking weed. Rick Baker's gooey effects don't disappoint.
