"THE SEARCH OF A FAMILY AFTER THE TSUNAMI".

- 'The Impossible' is a 2012 disaster drama based on the true events of the Alvarez family who were in Thailand during the 2004 tsunami. In this accurate and emotional tale we follow one family's hope and toughness to survive one of the most tragic nature catastrophes ever. This is one of those movies that really got to me. Wonderful performances of Naomi Watts (King Kong), Ewan McGregor (Star Wars prequels) and the young Tom Holland. A real must-see!

The Bennet family is celebrating Christmas 2004 at a luxurious resort in Thailand. For father Henry (McGregor) is a time to forget about the business life he leads and enjoy the holidays with his wife Maria (Watts) and their three sons Lucas (Holland), Thomas and Simon. When Maria is reading a book near the pool where her family is playing ball in the water, she feels a strange wind. Moments later a destructive flood caused by an earthquake in the Indian Ocean hits the shore. While Henry tries to hold on to his youngest sons, Maria and Lucas are swept away by the water. Both of them struggle to stay together. With his mom injured, the eldest son Lucas is determined to get her to safety. But how can the 12 year old boy find help in an area filled with chaos, destruction and death...
