Hollywood just couldn't bring themselves to make a movie about an actual Asian who was affected by the tsunami. Making it about a beautiful white family (SO WE'LL CARE MORE!!) really pulled the punch from what could have been a harrowing movie.
The tsunami sequence is great, though.
