Review of The Importance of Being Earnest (2002) by Larry G — 09 Nov 2009
A classic adaptation of Oscar Wilde's timeless satire, this movie is just great all around, with powerhouse performances from Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, Reese Witherspoon and Frances O Connor, as well as a number of supporting actors that I won't list here for the sake of brevity.
The jokes are snappy and clever, relying, as in the original Wilde screenplay, entirely on dialogue, and those who don't know the story already are really in for a treat, as this is just full of good stuff all around.
Highly recommended.
