I am ashamed to say that I have not read Wilde's play first, but maybe that helped me enjoy the movie that much more. Oscar Wilde's talent is seen in the story itself being ridiculously amusing, but I think it is only magnified by the performances of the great actors within this movie.
So couple a great story with great acting and you get a great movie.
