Review of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (2017) by Ellen P — 27 Apr 2017
This movie was so good on so many levels. It made me think about the moral and ethical issues of medical research. It made me have a deep gratitude to someone who unknowingly has helped mankind. I thought about the pain this family suffered with all the tragic events in their history.
I thought about how racism played into it all. Oprah was absolutely fabulous. The pain and mental health issues her character Deborah suffered were palpable. I now want to read the book now.
