As a big fan of Terry Gilliam i'm very open to his free spirit style of film making. Always amazed at the worlds he creates as with this film.....but there was something off with this and I couldn't put my finger on it.
Perhaps with the untimely death of Heath Ledger the film suffered as it felt a little messy as new scenes were obviously chucked together, fair be it with some equally great talents as Depp, Law and Farrell.
In the past Gilliam has had quite alot of bad luck, forcing him to shut up shop on many of his projects but on this occasion it seems enough was enough it was going to get made, scrappy as it turned out.
A shame as visually this film is stunning. It has its flaws but well worth letting go and delving into the magical imaginarium of Terry Gilliam.
