Review of The Illustrated Man (1969) by Walt H — 12 Aug 2007
God, how I love Ray Bradbury. Automobile-era American boy is lured into witnessing the dark future of his nation's technological and imperial expansion through the crass story-telling of the older man, covered with pictures of rockets and porn, pictures he did not want, which cover his skin because he was lured into imagining dark futures by a beautiful woman.
in this movie, woman begins history, and only women are capable of righting the moral disaster of the technology age, and boys and men are freighted with dark responsibilites that transcend both their desire and ability.
