Charming old school anamation by Sylvain Chomet (the creator of The Triplettes of Belleville). It's entertaining to the bone, and one of the most interesting movies of the year.

The character, "l'illusionist" is like an animated copy of Jacques Tati's "Monsieur Hulot", which is no coinsidence since it's actually Jacques Tati himself who've written the original script for the movie. Any Jacques Tati-lover will enjoy it!

The dialog is minimal, but like the saying; a picture tells more than a thousand words, animation can do as well.

The main character is a french poorly appreciated illusionist who travels to Scotland and make friends with a pretty young girl, as poor as he is.

This is plain art, very rich in emotions.

Watch it! Watch it!
