Review of The Illusionist (2009) by Alyssa E — 08 Feb 2011
The hand drawn animation is sublime and ever so delightfully detailed. For a film with very little dialogue, it speaks volumes about growing up and growing old. It's as rife with pathos as it is with physical comedy.
A must see for fans of Chomet's Triplets of Belleville from 2003 or anything by Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away).
