Review of The Illusionist (2009) by Adrian M — 14 May 2011
The Illusionist is a masterful and beautiful film. I'm a great fan of The Triplets of Belville, Sylvain Chomet's previous film. This film is very different in tone. The story is more reality based, and the humor is lighter, more subtle.
Most importantly, the tone is bittersweet, at points even quite sad.
