Review of The Illusionist (2009) by Carlos D — 01 Aug 2011
Poignant and charming animation from the makers of Belleville Rendevous. This is a much more maudlin affair than that but there are many touching grace notes in this tale of a has-been magician. Animation is superb and it's actually rather refreshing to see 'old school' animation after the now-norm computer 3D shenanigans.
not much of an actual story but then that's all the nicer.
