Review of The Illusionist (2009) by Amar K — 07 Sep 2011
A modest homage to its writer and a melancholy look at a lost world.
This reminds us of how much useless jabbering there is in movies right now.
Despite the mysterious whimsy of Tati, this movie lives and breathes on its own depicting the polite formality, the deliberate movement, the hesitation and the diffidence of its protagonist through the hand-drawn animation which would even envy Mr Miyazaki.
