Review of The Illusionist (2009) by Bill B — 03 Jan 2012
A wonderful little animated feature based on an un-produced Jacques Tati script. A man on the backside of his career finds himself taking care of an impressionable young woman who believes that his illusions are actual magic. This leads to several amusing vignettes as he tries to keep his income sufficient to take care of himself as well as his new charge.
Very charming and somewhat bittersweet by the time the credits rolls, this one is definitely recommended.
