Review of The Ides of March (2011) by Metalliccritic — 13 Dec 2011
A very well produced drama about dirty politics. This movie is not for everyone considering two reasons. One, it's about politics. Two, the film itself is very dark. At the end of the film you won't be cheering for anyone.
There are no good morals or values to learn from the character's actions. I would also like to point out that this is not liberal propaganda. The film shows corruption on both sides of the political ideologies.
If anything the Republicans got off easier because they weren't even in the movie. Although it is starring George Clooney, he doesn't get much screen time. Every actor did very well. It seemed as if each one got enough screen time.
Molly's suicide was very disturbing. Also people may find the topic of abortion to be disturbing. To top-off this review I would like to say, "We're Catholic".
