Review of The Ides of March (2011) by Rob F — 10 Apr 2012
Continuing on my man-crush with Ryan Gosling, I watched Ides of March expecting another boring political thriller, but what I came across was a film that affected me emotionally. I found myself hating characters like never before, and cheering when they got what they deserved.
I would curse aloud at some parts and by the end of it, I could not believe that I had just watched a film about the background of politics. Gosling shines as per the norm, and Clooney surprisingly takes a back seat to the rest of the cast, only showing up when his character needed to be there and then unselfishly giving them the chance to grow the story.
Great storytelling, great acting, great film.
