Enjoyed this far more than I was expecting. I still think Clooney is at best a workman-like director but he occasionally raises his game here. Gosling is terrific and it is to his credit that even in the scenes he features with the outstanding supporting cast, that he still wins out.
One of the best around at the moment I think.
