Review of The Ides of March (2011) by Bushra A — 26 Apr 2012
It was a really good politics , election , campaign movie , I enjoyed especially we are heading to an intense election season in many countries now , The movie deserved its Oscar nomination for Best Writing , Adapted screenplay , it was very good and intense , it although showed the ugly face of politics and politician there is no ideals it's only words coming from there mouth to earn more votes , Ryan Gosling performance in the movie was perfect , remarkable although George Clooney especially at the end of the movie it was great .
The maybe not original but it was perfectly done , the hole movie was at one mood that made what happen acceptable and believable in some part . What I don't understand why he didn't take responsibility for her death , he was not answering his phone, acting angry , threatening everybody so she though her life was ruined because of him , although he didn't blame it on them and try to expose them in any ways but he dealt with all of this to be in his favor without any sense for what he believe in or any feeling attached to it , maybe after what Duffy said to him it wasn't worth it and they all are shit and they have to do what they do but this also is not a reason for doing that .
Although what Morris did at the end , after the whole lecture on loyalty he ended it and make a deal that broke everything he believed in to protect his a** that's beside what he did in the beginning.
After all this was on of the best movie of 2011 and I give it 8.5/10.
