Review of The Iceman (2012) by Douglas L — 07 Sep 2013
For someone who never read the book it might be an interesting movie, but I was expecting more. First of all, while Michael Shannon did a good job with the personality of the Iceman, he was physically smaller than Kulkinski.
The movie did not go into his early life, the abusive domestic situation, or the sadistic nature of many of his kills. Overall the movie felt disjointed. It was almost as if the movie was shot, and then someone came in and made massive edits, cutting out much of the flow of the film.
Of course many of the names were changed. (Oh that's Mr. Softee, or that's Rosenberg, or that's NiƱo Gaggi.....).
