Review of The Iceman (2012) by Damjan R — 23 Oct 2013
To say it needed stronger direction and a better script is an understatement, because both drag the film down into mediocrity. The direction boils down to point and shot, without any thematic or visual interest.
The script features too much hand holding and not enough character building, no tension and gets quite tedious after the first half of the film. Michael Shannon and Chris Evans do an admirable jobs but can't save this mess.
I get that it's a film about cold blooded assassins, but it could have used a little more light, literal light because some scenes are so dark I could see a thing.
