Ang Lee not only nailed the time and place perfectly-my childhood in CT but he is not even from there. It is directed by a master-just watch the first phone call to paul from his family and see where he puts the camera during the scene.
.. NEVER SEE AMERICAN BEAUTY it rips this movie off with a dose of HAPPINESS but boiled into an easily digestible baby food for morons.
