Review of The Ice Storm (1997) by Jason P — 25 Sep 2007
I think the American Beauty comparisons are apt. Even the score seems to have been cribbed by Alan Ball and co. This was more subtle and I thought very beautifully made. It seemed to capture the era authentically, although I would have liked it to either been longer or cut down on a couple of storylines.
It didn't give me enough time to let them all sink in even with Lee's languid pacing.
