Review of The Ice Storm (1997) by Líam P — 26 Nov 2007
Every time I saw this movie, people would tell me I'd do a better job of it if I watched "American Beauty". Now I have seen that, I can understand why the failings in this film are often underlined and highlighted.
It is very slow, and the pacing is supposed to drive the narrative after all. I do love the subtle humour and wit, and before he went all Hollywood on us, Elijah Wood proved he could act a decent role.
Ditto Tobey Maguire, who I wager could not repeat his character here if he tried.
