Review of The Ice Storm (1997) by Ben W — 02 Jan 2008
A solid ang lee film. character driven for the most part and wonderfully conveyed through the eye of his camera. particularly good performances from kline and joan allen. there is virtually no good times in this film and the subject matter can make for some uncomfortable watching but very rewarding.
sexual hangups in the 70s for just about all ages. the imagery is stunning and perfectly placed and some of the shots he gets of ice covered trees is very stirring.
