Review of The Ice Storm (1997) by Andres B — 09 Apr 2011
This film defines the 70s, but in retrospect, showing that some of the values that sprung at the time pretty much went against everything people believed was natural, especially the middle-aged. In the film, the parents are probably more confused than the teens. They have no idea what to teach them, because it was fashionable to explore and think about oneself, the no-right-or-wrong, anything-goes philosophy was the trend.
This film pretty much explains in a nutshell how influential these times were to american societies and families today, and not really in a good way.
The way it all comes together in the end is mesmerizing. A real American Classic. Ang Lee knows his drama...
